Teaching Portfolio
Student Woodshop Works
Fusion 360 & Woodworking Essentials (Denison University)
This hybrid studio course introduces students to the fundamentals of designing and building in wood through both digital and physical processes. Using Fusion 360 for 3D modeling, students plan and prototype functional and sculptural forms that emphasize precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship. The course encourages connections between traditional woodworking methods and contemporary design practices, highlighting the relationship between material, process, and idea.
Student Glassblowing
Introduction to Glassblowing (The Ohio State University)
Students learn the fundamentals of glass as a sculptural medium through hands-on exercises in the hot shop and cold shop. The course emphasizes teamwork, material control, and creative experimentation while developing a visual language rooted in process.
Student Drawing
Introduction to Drawing (The Ohio State University)
Students explore drawing as both observation and interpretation through projects including self-portraits, perspective studies, and site drawings at the OSU Greenhouse and Knowlton School of Architecture. Emphasis is placed on visual thinking, proportion, and spatial distortion as tools for developing personal approaches to seeing and representing form.
Student 2D Design
Introduction to 2D Design (The Ohio State University)
This course introduces principles of design and visual communication through mixed-media projects. Students investigate balance, rhythm, and contrast, learning how design choices convey meaning across art and design contexts.
