Shahid Khan
I am an artist and educator whose practice bridges traditional craft and contemporary fabrication. I work across glass, wood, metal, and digital media to investigate the relationship between craft, technology, and the histories embedded in materials.
Studio Practice
I work across glass, wood, metal, and digital fabrication to explore the intersections of craft and technology. In this in-between space, I recontextualize materials and cultural symbols to form a third space of translation—where traditions intersect and evolve through process and interaction.
Teaching Portfolio
Grounded in the idea that we teach who we are, my approach to teaching emphasizes authenticity and reflection through making. Students engage with glass, wood, metal, and digital tools to explore how materials, form, and culture inspire creative thought. I view the classroom as a collaborative studio where curiosity, rigor, and care guide the learning process.
Fabrication
Fabrication is both a discipline and a way of thinking in my practice. I work across materials and processes—combining digital tools, traditional craft, and handwork—to study how technique and repetition shape form. Each piece becomes an act of understanding, revealing how ideas take shape through the logic of making.
